RR » Jeremy Toye aims to spoil the Brit party at Macau

"Get ready for an upset. Last year I wasn't even in the running as far as the press was concerned... [This year] I'm going for the top step" - Jeremy Toye.

I remember Jer Toye once did an article for Cycle World magazine (I think) wherein he raced a bone stock R1 in the Daytona AMA Superbike race to prove the point of how amazing machines were right off the lot these days. Of course he took off the mirrors and lights, but he had the stock pipe, suspension, etc. He did fairly well (13th out of 30, I think?), which could be a reflection as much of the lack of depth of field at that time (not now, though - the AMA field is solid!) as of Jeremy's riding skills. That being said, it looks like Toye is running well these days in road racing, so good luck, man. Give 'er snoose!

Toye is a good road/endurance racer. He is one of those guys that has the skill to play on the world level at road racing. BTW- he's an excellent instructor, too. For some reason I think it was Schwantz's school at Road A- where ever it was I seem to remember picking up something from him of sightlines that has stuck with me for years. Luck to you Toye.

if he's so damn good and confident as a road racer why does'nt he come over to NI and race between the hedges in the home of road racing and show our lads how it's done?

@big phil

Same reason your Irish boys don't go to the czech road races or the italian races. They would get there asses handed to them by the locals.

I think the North West was cancelled!!!!! Only one race was run and that was won by a NI guy who is not a road racer!The North West attracts a lot of non pure road racers because of the speed and openness of the circuit. I mean tight circuits like Armoy, Cookstown,Tandragee,mid Antrim etc.
