Undisputed Isle of man TT superbike king John McGuinness turns screw with first 130mph lap of the week, says he was 'held up' by slower riders.

I have the visor from John's lap record helmet from 09 i will be at the tt on Tuesday nite and if anyone is interested buying it for a min of 150 pounds I will leave it in mcpints truck and the money will be forward to mark Buckleys family..

Big preoccupation with the outright lap speed in the IOM. I am not surprised the speeds continually go up with the progress in bike technology allied with the fact they constantly re-surface a lot of the road. A major factor was the re-aligning of Brandish so you can carry a higher gear and get a faster run to Hillberry.
Looking back it makes the laps done by Hislop and Fogarty in the 90's seem really special. They really were sticking their necks out a long way back then.
