I think what he is trying to say is its too dangerous for him to continue but it's ok to put other riders in the firing line on bikes Ryan is no longer prepared to ride himself. . Is that a valid point? Down to ones own interpretation I guess.

ok, he quits after seeing the immediate effect of a death on a family member (rip Trevor), though he is prepared to put others family's at the same risk ??? in this case its either you do or you don't.

is he the only rider that retired and then ran his own race team dont think so some people cant be pleased you are now putting all team managers in the same boat

@ snell. Many ex riders have gone on to run their own teams and to say we tar all managers with the same brush is wide of the mark. Under the circumstances of Ryan's retirement name me all of those riders that have lost a family member and then gone on to manage their own racing team with non family members riding for them? It's always tragic to lose a rider, whether that be on the roads or short circuit but to quit because its too risky and then run a team in the same environment is a touch hypocritical.

Some of you lot with your comments are *****s. I doubt you even ride bikes. RF has been talking about retiring for the last couple of years and his uncles death was the final nudge that he needed. He's only the most successful road racer ever so he can do wtf he wants. If that means he builds already proven bikes for other racers then that's his choice as it is the choice of those riders to race in the first place. Fcuk me some of you need to get a life.
