McWilliams is an inspiration. I saw him fight with Rossi and Roberts in the 2000 great Britain race on that crappy aprilia and he was awesome

That whole race is on youtube - search "Rossi first win" worth watching!

Agree with 46 about Jezza - he also put a 500 2 stroke on pole in 2002 in Germany ahead of the RCV's 4 strokes etc

Top rider Jezza!

My favourite Jezza memory was from Sachsenring in 98. In the 250cc race Harada disappeared off to win at a canter but the fight for second was between Jezza on a privateer Aprilia (run by Queens Uni in Belfast) and the factory Aprilia's of Rossi and Capirossi. Jezza fought tooth an nail... I was watching on Eurosport and Toby Moody's voice reached a level where only dogs could hear him. Jezza beat them, fair and square on a slower bike, and took second. I think Jay Vincent also had a good ride that day from memory.

In a time where British riders were doing well in Superbikes but nowhere in GP's, Jezza was an inspiration. A true legend of British motorcycle racing.
