'There was talk from Guy and TAS about how they beat me in my backyard at the Ulster Grand Prix, so I just went over there and returned the favour' - Michael Dunlop

When a young Mickey D started claiming the scalps of established stars I thought "Too fast, too soon" and worried that a big crash was imminent. But I was wrong.
He is a class act and at some time or other has beaten all the established top men.
At 24 he can confidently expect to rapidly increase his tally of TT wins.
Reading that he hasn't got a job for next year, I can only assume that he has offers on the table and is bargaining for the best deal. My guess is that he'll be a works Honda rider in the near future.

lol tetley

he already is a works honda rider. He rides for the Honda TT legends at isle of man tt, and some world endurance rounds. Most of the time he rides a privately funded MD racing hondas such as at this race. Stoked he beat factory suzukis on effectively privateer machinery, well done MD!

At the weekend Dunlop only won as it was wet. Harrison fell off whilst leading then John Mc did the same. In the dry he was 3rd at best. Martin is too good for him round Scarboro just like Dunlop is too goood for him at the TT.

Barts the idea of racing is to finish the race - not fall off!!!!
Winners don't fall off losers do!!!! If Guy Martin is too good for Dunlop around Scarborough why did he finish 11 seconds behind him in the race!!!!!! The fact is Dunlop is on average far too good for Martin and particularly when he is riding his own private bike against a works bike!!!!!

@RaceCrafter " lol tetley he already is a works honda rider."
Naturally I'm well aware that he already gets rides on works Hondas, but those are essentially invitations for specific events and that doesn't make him a works rider, as the rest of the time he is free to race for whoever he chooses, including his own team, on whatever bikes he chooses and even sidecars if he wants to .
A "Works Honda Rider" to me means contractually tied to ride Hondas exclusively and Honda being contractually committed to providing him with machinery at specified events.
I have sat on the R1 which Yamaha provided for VR46's use while he lived in England, but unfortunately that didn't make me a works Yamaha rider. (sigh.)

Maybe his geography isn't up to much, but in what way does dunlop think Scarborough is in Martin's back yard? Got to be a couple of hours drive away.

But seriously what's this report doing in the road racing section in the first place? The Mount is a short circuit. And no it's not a race on public roads, the Mount's roads are private, but permissively opened to the public. Likewise I can't figure out what all the EWC stuff is doing under road racing.
