Padgetts reveal international road racing team

“I'm delighted to welcome Gary Johnson on board and I'm sure we can help him, and John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey, to add to their wins on the Mountain Course" - Clive Padgett
The Padgetts Racing team will field a formidable line-up at the international road races this season after confirming a three-rider effort, with Gary Johnson joining multiple Isle of Man TT winners John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey.

Anstey, who claimed his eighth victory on the Mountain Course last June when he won the opening Supersport race, remains in Clive Padgett's famous Honda team for a second season and will ride Superbike, Superstock and Supersport machinery in the distinctive livery of the celebrated Yorkshire team.

TT legend McGuinness, who dominated the premier class in 2011 on the Honda TT Legends Fireblade, joins Anstey in Padgett's colours in the Supersport and Superstock classes but will ride the same CBR1000RR superbike for the Legends team on which he proved so dominant last season.

Lincolnshire's Gary Johnson, who is part of the Honda TT Legends World Endurance squad in 2012 along with Simon Andrews, Cameron Donald and McGuinness, will ride a superbike machine for the Padgetts team at the international road races.

Johnson claimed his debut victory at the TT last year in the second Supersport race on the East Coast Racing Honda.

The Padgetts MMCG Racing team has an incredible record at the TT, notching nine victories in the last four years, including Ian Hutchinson's historic five wins in a week in 2010.

In total, the team has 24 top five finishes from the last 31 races they've started in the same five year period. Between the 2008 and 2010 Senior races the Yorkshire team won eight out of the 11 races held.

Looking ahead to this season, team boss Padgett said: “We've got a great team again this year and I know that all the lads enjoy racing for our team. Everyone gets on really well and feels part of the family when they climb onto our bikes.

“I'm delighted to welcome Gary on board and I'm sure we can help him, and John and Bruce, to add to their wins on the mountain course. Roll on June.”

Paul Phillips, TT and Motorsport Manager, Isle of Man Government, added: “Padgetts has established themselves as the team to beat on the Isle of Man. There's a saying on the Isle of Man that to win the race you've got to finish it and Padgetts consistent performance has meant that they have had an unbeatable record over the last few years.”

Clive certainly knows how to gather a team together,John McPInt will certainly give Padgetts his all as always,Gaz is the man, an all out racer and dedicated he will certainly be one of the riders to watch this year,he certainly deserves more wins, with Bruce in the team what more could you want, with 26 wins between them this is looking like one of the best line-ups for wins.
