Rico Penzkofer prepares to give BMW HP4 race debut

'I am more than happy with the HP4 – for a stock-bike [it is] a really brilliant bike' - Rico Penzkofer
German rider Rico Penzkofer will start from 13th position on the grid in tomorrow's 46th Macau Grand Prix on the all-new BMW S1000-RR HP4.

A regular at Macau, Penzkofer is signing the praises of the BMW, which is making its race debut at Macau.

He is competing on a completely stock version of the machine, which will be available in German showrooms next month.

“I am satisfied today. Of course it was a pity the qualifying again got red flagged [due to fading light] as I've been able to ride around here four seconds quicker last year,” he said.

“But number 13 on 13th spot on the grid isn't too bad.

“We were able to work on the bike a lot today. We made the back-end a bit higher and worked on some electronic settings for the front suspension,” he added.

“I think we are good situated for tomorrow. I am more than happy with the HP4 – for a stock-bike [it is] a really brilliant bike!”

His team-mates, Matsushita Yoshinari and Joao Fernandes, will start from 21st and 23rd places on the grid respectively on the S1000-RR.
