Guy Martin earns hat-trick of wins at Scarborough

Tyco Suzuki's Guy Martin commenced his 2013 road racing preparations in style with a treble at the Ian Watson Spring Cup meeting at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough.

Martin was in impressive form as he took part in his first race meeting of the 2013 season.

He won the feature Spring Cup race and added wins in both Supersport races.

The Lincolnshire rider beat Northern Ireland's Michael Pearson by over 11 seconds, with Jamie Hamilton third on Ryan Farquhar's KMR Kawasaki.

He then twice had the edge over Dean Harrison in the Supersport races, with Ivan Lintin third on both occasions.

Martin said: “I've only ever competed in the Spring Cup once before but I love the Scarborough Circuit and I think I even surprised myself today.

"Everything worked perfectly for us and to come away with a one hundred percent record is very satisfying.

"Next up is Cookstown.”

Martin's treble sets him up nicely for this weekend's Cookstown 100 in Co Tyrone, which lifts the curtain on the Irish National road racing season.

Great to see Guy Martin at Scarborough on Sunday, Good result, ready for the next event, All hoping for a well deserved TT win this year, Weather was kind to us all at Oliver's mount and am hoping we have a dry race season this year, My first time at the mount, great place,
