Manx rider Cummins reflects on 'frustrating' TT

'I was happy enough with fifth place in the Superbike TT, but this year's whole event was a bit frustrating' - Conor Cummins
Milwaukee Yamaha's Conor Cummins has reflected on a 'frustrating' Isle of Man TT, with the Manx rider achieving a best result of fifth in the Superbike race in the feature races.

Cummins retired from the opening Supersport race before finishing tenth in the second on his Yamaha R6, but retired from the Superstock and Senior TTs.
His best lap this year was 129.01mph on the YZF-R1 Superbike.

Cummins, who finished on the podium in third place in the Lightweight race on the KMR Kawasaki, is seeking solace in next month's Southern 100 road races at Billown.

“I was happy enough with fifth place in the Dainese Superbike TT, but this year's whole event was a bit frustrating - as I just couldn't find a setting that I was really comfortable enough with to challenge the boys at the front,” he said.

“Sometimes I wasn't riding the Superbike, it was riding me, but it's an awesome bit of kit and mega fast; a great bike.

“We just need some set-up time before the Southern 100 and I'll be working my backside off to maintain my physical condition.

“Thanks to all the boys for a big effort at the TT. I believe we have a winning package.”
