Southern 100: Second rider killed

Manx rider Mark Madsen-Mygdal has died following an incident on the final day of the Southern 100 on the Isle of Man
A second rider has been killed at the Southern 100 after Mark Madsen-Mygdal lost his life on the final day of the event.

The 23-year-old died following an incident in the 600cc Supersport B race at Stadium Corner.

Mr Mygdal, from Douglas on the Isle of Man, is the son of experienced road racer Dave Madsen-Mygdal.

An official statement from the Southern 100 organisers said a full investigation into the cause of the accident had been launched.

On Monday, David Jukes (46) - also from Douglas on the Isle of Man - was killed following an incident during practice for the Supersport class.

Racing will go ahead today after a revised schedule was issued, with roads closing again at 2pm.

Thursday is the main day of racing at the Southern 100, which includes the blue riband Solo Championship race.

i have heard that a third rider has died as well what a sad week for racing and especially the southern 100 to ALL riders Huge respect for what you do and to the families of those tragically taken deep condolences RIP
