Killalane Road Races: Dunlops top entry at final Irish meeting of season

Michael and William Dunlop head the entry for the final Irish national road race of the season at Killalane this weekend
The Irish national road racing season reaches a conclusion this weekend with the Killalane meeting near Dublin.

Michael and William Dunlop top the entry list on Sunday and both have enjoyed plenty of success this season.

At the Isle of Man TT in June, Michael won four races in a week to boost his tally of Mountain Course wins to seven.

He also tasted victory at the North West 200 in the Supersport class in May and won the Superstock race at the Ulster Grand Prix at Dundrod last month, following that up with a Classic TT win in the Formula 1 race.

Dunlop will ride his MD Racing machines at Killalane, where he starts as favourite in the Superbike class.

His brother William, though, would appear to be the man to beat in the Supersport race, having won on Chris Dowd's Yamaha R6 at Skerries and Armoy and again at the Ulster GP.

Milwaukee Yamaha rider William, a podium finisher in the Supersport class at the TT, won't have a Superbike machine this weekend at Killalane, but the 28-year-old is aiming to continue his winning streak in the 600cc class.

He is also set to ride brother Michael's TSR Honda in the 250cc race.

The entry list also includes Irishman Derek Sheils, plus Jamie Hamilton on Ryan Farquhar's Vauxhall KMR Kawasaki machines and Manx Grand Prix winner Michael Sweeney.
