Michael Dunlop won four races in a week at the Isle of Man TT this year, but John McGuinness struck when it mattered to take victory in the blue riband Senior event.

McGuinness also set a new outright lap record at the TT of 131.671mph on the Honda TT Legends Fireblade to underline his credentials as the master of the big bikes on the Mountain course.

Dunlop, though, had the upper hand in the Superbike race and lapped at an incredible 131.220mph on his way to victory in the Superstock TT. The Ulsterman also won both Supersport races and was only just denied a five-timer by McGuinness, finishing as the runner-up in the Senior race.

Guy Martin, meanwhile, is still waiting on his first Isle of Man victory, but the Tyco Suzuki rider ended the second part of the season in style with a Solo Championship win at the Southern 100 plus a treble at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Or what about Bruce Anstey? The experienced Kiwi didn't quite manage to bag an international victory in 2013 but he was on the rostrum at the North West 200, TT and Ulster Grand Prix.

Likewise, how highly does Ian Hutchinson's emotional comeback win at Macau rank in the overall scheme of the 2013 road racing season?

Those names and more are included on our shortlist of the best 2013 road racing riders.

Now we need you to give each rider a score from one (poor) to ten (excellent) dependent upon how impressed you were with their performances this year. The final ranking will be decided by the average score awarded to each rider and announced next month.

You may have a clear rider in mind for first place, but what about the order for the rest of the riders on the shortlist?

Totally agree about Hutchy's Macau win mate and there was no one more made up for for the guy than myself and I agree he will be strong in 2014. However this poll is for the ''top road racer of 2013'' which was without any shadow of a doubt Michael Dunlop.
