Ulster Grand Prix Wins: Did not compete

Bournemouth's James Hillier made quite an impression at the Isle of Man TT this year.

Hillier narrowly missed out on a dream podium finish in the Senior TT following a last-lap onslaught by Bruce Anstey, finishing 0.978s behind the Kiwi after six laps of the Mountain Course.

However, the Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider showed enough in the blue riband race to suggest he will return as a major contender next year after joining the elite band of riders to lap the TT course in excess of 131mph.

The 28-year-old was caught and passed by Senior race winner John McGuinness on the road but tailed the Honda TT Legends star all the way to the finish.

Hillier – who finished seventh in the Superbike race – secured his first TT victory with a commanding win in the Lightweight Supertwin race and finished fifth and sixth in the two Supersport events. He also sealed a top six result in the Superstock class.

The English ace didn't compete at the Ulster Grand Prix but was on the rostrum at the North West 200 in May, taking second place in the Supertwin event behind Jeremy McWilliams.

Hillier had been linked with a move to Honda but has renewed his association with Kawasaki for 2014, spearheading the manufacturer's official road racing effort at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.
