Motorcycle road racing's biggest star ended the season on a high after another year passed him by without that elusive Isle of Man TT victory.

Guy Martin's fourth place finish in the Superbike race was the standout result of his 2013 exploits on the legendary Mountain Course, which he followed up with fifth place in the flagship Senior race.

However, his performances on the GSX-R Suzuki machines in the second half of the year have heightened expectations that Martin could finally make a long-awaited TT breakthrough next season.

The Lincolnshire rider was crowned Solo champion after a deserved victory at the Southern 100 at Billown and dominated at the final major international road race of the season at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Martin won both Superbike races at Dundrod and also put the GSX-R600 on the top step in the opening Supersport race in mixed conditions.

The English star was in dominant form at the Scarborough Gold Cup meeting at Oliver's Mount but lost out in the feature race to Michael Dunlop, who mastered the wet roads to take victory in the feature event.

Martin will be joined in the Northern Ireland team in 2014 by William Dunlop.
