Dan Kneen teams up with Burrows Racing for 2014

'I'm going to have a great opportunity to show what I can do and I'm really looking forward to mixing it up at the front' - Dan Kneen
Isle of Man rider Dan Kneen has confirmed his plans for 2014, when the talented Manxman will ride for Northern Ireland team Burrows Racing.

Kneen will contest the Isle of Man TT plus the North West 200, Ulster Grand Prix and selected Irish national road races this season in former racer John Burrows outfit.

The 26-year-old from Braddan will ride Suzuki Superbike and Superstock machines plus a 600cc Honda prepared to World Supersport specification. Kneen, who also retains the support of loyal sponsors Marks Bloom Chartered Accountants and Wemoto, will also have a Kawasaki ER6 for the Supertwin class.

“I'm delighted to be joining John Burrows' team. I feel that John and his crew will provide me with everything that I need to challenge for international podium finishes,” said Kneen.

“His bikes will be as good as anything around. In previous years, I've had to take care of all of the machine preparation myself but this year I will be able to concentrate solely on the racing.

“I'm going to have a great opportunity to show what I can do and I'm really looking forward to mixing it up at the front.”

Kneen claimed a treble at the Manx Grand Prix in 2008 and since then he has earned six top ten finishes at the TT, with his best result coming in 2010 when he finished fifth in the second Supersport race.

Looking ahead to the new season, Kneen is targeting rostrum finishes at the TT under Burrows' tutelage.

“My main aim is podium finishes at the TT but I'll also be looking to go well in Ireland,” he said. “I don't know any of the national circuits but John's experience will be a great help at all the places that are new to me and I'm confident that I can put on a good show everywhere, starting at Cookstown.

“I'd like to thank John for putting his faith in me and thanks to Marks Bloom for their continued support.”
