New BMW will 'fly' at the TT, says Dunlop

Michael Dunlop gets to grips with BMW Motorrad S1000RR Superbike at Mallory Park and Donington
Michael Dunlop already feels his new BMW Motorrad S1000RR Superbike will 'fly' at this year's Isle of Man TT, despite having had limited track time on the German machine so far.

The Ulsterman has completed two tests at Mallory Park and this week's official MCE British Superbike shakedown at Donington Park, where Dunlop was riding for the first time.

The seven-time TT winner, who is competing with factory support at the international road races this year in Stuart Hicken's Hawk Racing outfit, said: “It's been a good day, considering it's only my second time on the BMW and first time ever at Donington Park. The bike feels great and I think it will fly at the TT.

“I've spent the day getting used to the bike and spending as much time out on track as possible. So far it's all pretty grand.”

Dunlop will also compete at the opening two BSB rounds at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park and the team will take in next week's two-day test at Snetterton.
