William Dunlop confirmed for Tandragee 100

Tyco Suzuki's William Dunlop will compete at this weekend's Tandragee 100 on the GSX-R600 Supersport machine as preparation for the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT
Tyco Suzuki's William Dunlop will contest this weekend's Tandragee 100 Irish national road race to gain further track time before the Vauxhall International North West 200 and Isle of Man TT races.

Dunlop narrowly missed out on victory in the feature Superbike race at the Cookstown 100 on corrected time to Manx newcomer Dan Kneen, who started from the second group.

The 28-year-old was denied a victory on his roads bow for the Northern Ireland team but will have another opportunity at Tandragee, where Dunlop will ride the GSX-R600 Supersport machine.

“This weekend will give us more time on the wee 600 and it's the perfect place to try a few things for the TT,” he said.

“We made a good start at Cookstown on all Tyco Suzuki bikes and despite the disappointment it has left me feeling very positive about the next few weeks. Tandragee is always a great race if the weather is dry, so hopefully the sun shines on Saturday.”

Team Manager Philip Neill added: “It's been a while since we've been able to support the Tandragee as a team because of other commitments – so it's pleasing to be on the entry list. It's another opportunity for William to get some valuable mileage on our GSX-R600 and I'm sure he'll be competitive, but the trip is more for preparation purposes for the North West and TT.”

Dunlop's appearance is limited to the Supersport machine as Tyco Suzuki splits its commitments between the event at Tandragee and the second round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park.

The line-up at Tandragee also includes KMR Kawasaki team owner Ryan Farquhar and Scotsman Keith Amor, who are both making their Irish road racing comebacks after coming out of retirement.
