BMW 'best package' for NW200, says Seeley

Alastair Seeley rejoins TAS Racing in new Tyco BMW team for National Superstock 1000 Championship and North West 200 in 2015
Double British champion Alastair Seeley has taken on a new challenge in 2015, joining Tyco BMW to contest the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship and the North West 200.

Seeley, who finished as the runner-up in the British Supersport series this year on the Mar-Train Yamaha, won the 600cc crown and the Superstock 1000 title with TAS Racing in 2009 and 2011 respectively and is now aiming for a third title with the Northern Ireland outfit, which has been confirmed as BMW's official British Superbike and international roads team after a 14-year partnership with Suzuki.

The 35-year-old is also a major contender at the North West 200, where Seeley has chalked up 12 wins to close in on Ulster roads great Robert Dunlop's record haul of 15 victories.

“It's great to be back with TAS Racing and to be part of the whole Tyco BMW set-up for next year,” Seeley said.

“With factory support and what I believe to be the best machinery for both the Superstock class and the North West 200, I really can't wait to get started. TAS Racing gave me the opportunity to win two British championships so the goal next year is to repay them and hopefully make that three.

“I'm also happy to be back in the Superstock class as I feel the BMW S1000-RR will give me a great chance to win the championship and I've already started doing my homework for next season.”
