Guy Martin's wait for that elusive Isle of Man TT victory continues but the high-profile Lincolnshire rider remains one of the best road racers around.

Martin, whose popularity has sky-rocketed following a string of successful TV programmes, took a runner-up finish behind circuit specialist Alastair Seeley in the first Supersport race at the North West 200 but by his own admission, Martin isn't a fan of the Ulster circuit and it was at the TT in June where he pulled out all the stops.

The 33-year-old clinched the runner-up spot in the Superbike race behind Michael Dunlop and returned to the podium in the showpiece Senior race, this time finishing third behind Dunlop and Manx favourite Conor Cummins.

He was never in contention in the Supersport or Superstock TT races and with Dunlop in such dominant form in the Superbike class, Martin will have to find something extra special to make his breakthrough in the coming years.
One venue where the English star has been able to hold his own against Dunlop in recent years is the Southern 100 and Martin managed to retain the Solo Championship title after a thrilling battle with Dean Harrison in the big race of the week.

The Ulster Grand Prix has also proved a happy hunting ground for the Tyco Suzuki rider over the years but after a stunning treble in 2013, Martin had to settle for two rostrum finishes in the sole Superbike and Supersport races as the weather resulted in a reduced schedule at Dundrod.

Martin remains with TAS Racing for 2015 in the new Tyco BMW team, when he will ride the new S1000-RR Superbike and Superstock machines at the North West 200, Isle of Man TT and Ulster Grand Prix alongside team-mate William Dunlop.
