Juodvirsis takes DD2 honours at Genk

6 September 2010

Lithuanian driver Simas Juodvirsis won the fourth and final round of the Rotax Euro Challenge DD2 class at Genk in Belgium.

Juodvirsis dominated the 14-lap pre-final from pole position around the 1350-metre Belgian venue, crossing the line more than two seconds ahead of his nearest rival after setting the fastest time in qualifying and winning two of his three qualifying heats.

The Maranello mounted RKV Racing driver comfortably beat Englishman Patrick Pearce and local expert Xen De Ruwe to put him on pole position for the main final.

Even though the main final was a far closer affair than the pre final Juodvirsis still prevailed, albeit by a greatly reduced margin over De Ruwe with another Belgian in the form of Christof Huibers completing the podium.

Once again Pearce was the top best British driver in eighth with Tiffany Chittenden taking eleventh place from 18th on the grid.
