Tyco Suzuki's Conor Cummins will focus on ironing out his plans for 2013 after finishing sixth at the Macau Grand Prix.

The Manx rider was pleased with the performance of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 at the Guia street circuit in Southern China, but conceded he was slightly disappointed by his final position.

"I rode my own race and the big Suzuki never missed a beat," said Cummins.

"I'm a little disappointed with the result but happy enough with the finish and can now start preparing for next season."

Portuguese rider Luis Carreira was killed in an incident during qualifying and fellow Isle of Man TT rider Cummins said the tragedy was a 'blow' for everyone involved with the event.

"It was a tough week with stoppages and delays and obviously the loss of Luis Carreira in qualifying was a blow for everyone," added the 26-year-old.

Michael Rutter won the race on the SMT Honda for a record eighth time ahead of Martin Jessopp on the Riders Ducati with Simon Andrews third.
