Simon Andrews has joined the Penz13.com BMW Racing Team for this year's Isle of Man TT races.

Andrews will ride a factory-supported BMW S1000RR HP4 at the event in June plus the North West 200 and Macau Grand Prix.

The British rider and Team Penz13.com had been in negotiations for some time and Andrews had been due to compete for the team at Macau last November until a serious crash during the Le Mans 24-Hours meeting in France brought the 29-year-old's season to a painful conclusion.

Andrews' HP4 will be prepared by Rico Penzkofer's Penz13.com team with input from BMW HP Race Support at the TT and North West 200.

He will also compete in the FIM World Endurance Superstock Cup class with the Penz13.com/Franks Autowelt Racing Team this season and is a reserve rider for the Le Mans 24-Hours and Bol d'Or EWC events.

The former Honda TT Legends rider, who made his Isle of Man debut in 2011 (pictured) said: "I'm pleased to sign with Penz13.com BMW Racing Team for the road races in 2014. I've raced against Rico and know his bikes are well built.

"I've had some success with BMW already when I started on the roads. With the help and support of BMW I believe the team will give me a good bike to be competitive on," he added.

"I understand the roads now and really enjoy it, so I am looking forward to meeting all the team and really seeing what we can do together."

Andrews has four top 15 finishes to his credit at the TT and earned a rostrum result at Macau, taking third place in 2012.
