James Edmeades will make a return to road racing in 2014 after securing the backing he needs for entries into the Isle of Man TT and the North West 200.

The former British Superbike rider has penned a deal with GO&FUN Energy to support his renewed road racing campaign, which will certainly include the blue riband events on the Isle of Man TT and North West 200, as well as possibly the Ulster Grand Prix.

At present, Edmeades has secured a Triumph 675 to compete in the Supersport class and is considering his options in the Superbike, Supersport and Supertwin classes.

"I am so pleased to have been able to bring this deal to life. I'm also glad that Daniel Ewen took a chance on me and my return to racing.

"The whole team worked hard to get Daniel on board. I need to say a big thank you to all the lads working behind the scenes sorting everything out. I will be doing my utmost to repay his faith in me and I'm sure he will really enjoy paddock life."

Having established a presence in the MotoGP paddock recently with its title backing of the Gresini Honda team, GO&FUN Energy are looking forward to moving into the road racing market.

"I think what James is doing is very courageous. Making a return to a tough sport like motorcycle racing isn't going to be easy but he is determined and working hard to make it happen. I'm looking forward to the season ahead and to our partnership bearing fruit."
