NW200: Michael Dunlop wins red-flagged Supertock race

17 May 2014

Michael Dunlop clinched his third victory at the North West 200 in the Superstock race, which was halted prematurely following a red-flag incident.

Simon Andrews was reportedly involved in an incident on the fourth lap of six at Metropole, with his machine bursting into flames. The injured rider was airlifted to hospital and no further details were immediately available.

Dunlop, who had overhauled early leader Michael Rutter on the Bathams BMW to take the lead, was declared the winner with results taken based on positions at the end of the third lap.

Rutter finished as the runner-up with Gary Johnson on the Lincs Lifting Kawasaki claiming the final rostrum place.

Behind the top three, Horst Saiger was fourth on his Kawasaki, with Seeley and Lee Johnston the first half dozen.

Dean Harrison (RC Express Kawasaki) was next ahead of James Hillier on the Quattro Plant Kawasaki.
