Crash can’t stop Eadon taking 2nd Extreme title

5 October 2010

David Eadon had already wrapped up his second consecutive Super One TKM Extreme title prior to the sixth and final round of the series at Buckmore Park in Kent and it was probably just as well as he suffered all kinds of problems on a wet and windy weekend.

Right from the moment he spun on the opening lap of the first of his three heats Eadon was on the back foot and although he recovered to win his second race he was never a factor for overall honours.

With the rain lashing down, Ryan Cole and Charlie Bruce White disputed the lead in the opening point scoring final. Cole emerged in front but then came under pressure from Welsh Champion Joe Forsdyke in the closing stages, the latter closing to within two tenths of a second at the end.

Joe Porter edged out Bruce White for third with Will Redman completing the top five and Eadon only 13th in the slippery conditions.

Eadon didn't have a chance to redeem himself in the second final, held on a damp rather than soaking track, as he found himself in the tyre barriers along with the kart of Lloyd Ellison during the first lap scramble and out of the race.

Up at the front Forsdyke got ahead of Cole on the opening lap and slithered clear to record a comfortable three second victory. Cole's kart wasn't suited to the damp conditions and he fell back as the race wore on, falling to fifth at the end, just ahead of Brice White who also missed the set-up in the conditions.

Behind Forsdyke Porter claimed second place ahead of Redman and Randall Lynn while in the points table Bruce White's sixth place finish was enough to keep him in second place in the overall standings, 28 points behind Eadon but 19 ahead of third place man Cole.
