Sportscar fans to benefit from Motors TV move

Motors TV to join the Freeview platform in a boost for UK sportscar fans
Fans of top level sportscar racing will be able to benefit from the news that Motors TV is to move onto the Freeview platform in the UK.

From around midday today [Thursday], the channel will be available to anyone with a compatible internet-enabled Freeview HD or Freeview+HD product, with the broadcaster making use of the Connect TV facility to enter an increased number of UK homes.

The move means fans of the World Endurance Championship, United SportsCar Championship and British GT – amongst others – will be able to keep up to date with racing action over the course of the season ahead, while the likes of the WRC, V8 Supercars and Motocross will also be readily available.

“We're delighted to be joining the Freeview family through Arqiva's Connect TV,” Frederic Viger, Head of Programming and Acquisitions at Motors TV, said. “Scores of motor sport fans will now have access to the widest and most diverse range of live, delayed and highlights programming that features both international and domestic championships.

“It was something that prospective viewers had been calling for and I'd like to think that we've responded to their wishes. The proliferation of internet-connected television made this a very attractive platform.”

Motors TV will be available on Channel 240 on the Freeview EPG.
