Former Williams drivers Bruno Senna and Antonio Pizzonia will team up in a Prati-Donaduzzi sponsored car at the opening round of the Brazilian Stock Car Championship next weekend.

The race, at Interlagos, will feature a unique format as each of the 32 regular drivers gets to invite a guest. After an absence of one year, Pizzonia signed with Prati-Mico's Racing to contest the 2014 campaign and will be partnered during the regular season by Julio Campos. Senna, however, was his chosen partner for the opening event.

"He has a lot of experience in long distance races," Pizzonia pointed out, "This one is not exactly as long as the ones he did in WEC, but he is used to certain procedures, like the change of drivers, and can be very useful for us. Besides that, I'm happy he has accepted the invitation to race with me."

The first round will last 60 minutes, with the regular drivers behind the wheel for the first two-thirds of the race before their guests take the cars to the chequered flag.

"I always said that I could return to another outing in Stock Car, depending on the proposal," Senna noted, "The team really made a very good offer and I'm quite pleased to be back after my maiden experience in December with A.Mattheis Racing."

Mico's Racing team principal Juan Carlo Lopez couldn't hide his excitement at the outstanding acquisition his squad had made.

"It's a big honour for us to have a Senna in our team," he confided, "He is a huge push in the morale of the whole team. It is worth noting that Bruno has a great advantage over the other guest drivers as he has everything still fresh in his mind - car, tyres, circuit -, because the Stock Car is his latest reference. Along with Pizzonia, I think we'll have one the strongest pairs of the field."
