Mike Conway is to get his first competitive drive with Toyota Racing in the World Endurance Championship after being drafted in to replace the committed Kazuki Nakajima.

Toyota's official test and reserve driver, Conway has been called up to race at the next FIA WEC round at the Circuit of the Americas in the #7 TS040 Hybrid for the first time alongside Stephane Sarrazin and Alexander Wurz.

The British driver will compete in place of Nakajima, who has conflicting Super Formula duties in Japan, and is looking forward to making his bow around a circuit where he was triumphant in the LMP2 class last season

"I'm really pleased to be given the chance to race a TS040 HYBRID at the Circuit of the Americas and I cannot wait to get started. The car is phenomenal, especially with the 1000PS of four-wheel drive hybrid boost, and it should be great fun to race at the front in Austin.

"I'd like to thank the team for giving me this opportunity; we are fighting for the World Championship and I will do everything I can to contribute to that. I'm ready for this challenge and looking forward to showing what I can do."

Conway is currently racing in the IndyCar Series - where he has won two races in 2014 -, while he will also be competing in the inaugural Formula E Championship along with Toyota team-mates Sarrazin and Sebastien Buemi.
