Hollywood actor and renowned GT driver Patrick Dempsey will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship next season, it has been announced.

Dempsey has split his time been acting and racing over the years, most recently embarking on a season in the United SportsCar Championship driving a GTD Porsche.

However, having also contested three Le Mans 24 Hours events, Dempsey will now commit to a full season on the international WEC stage next year, driving a GTE Am Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche alongside factory driver Patrick Long and another as-yet-unannounced driver.
