The #19 Porsche of Nico Hulkenberg, Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy set the pace in a trecherous second free practice for the World Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps.
Having battled poor conditions in FP1, second free practice got underway in arguably worse weather and top times were a further 10secs down on what was being achieved in the morning.
Nonetheless, it was Porsche that would emerge quickest in both, with Bamber getting through the spray with the fastest time in the third entered 919 Hybrid, ahead of the Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley, Timo Bernhard variant.
With the #1 Toyota and #8 Audi out of action for FP2 after their collision in FP1 – one which has left one which left Kazuki Nakajima nursing a fractured vertebra
-, the #7 Audi was third in the depleted LMP1 field, ahead of the #18 Porsche, the #9 Audi and the #2 Toyota.
In the LMP2 class, the Strakka Racing DOME was once more comfortably quicker than nearest rivals JOTA Gibson and the two G-Drive Ligiers, while Porsche maintained its place at the top of the GTE standings, albeit this time in the hands of Richard Lietz and Frederic Makowiecki.
