The championship-leading Porsche has claimed the final pole position of the season for the Bahrain 6 Hours to take a clean sweep of poles in 2015 and move drivers Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber one step closer to the title.

Hartley and Bernhard combined perfectly to set the benchmark with the New Zealand driver going first in the #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid with a 1m 39.802s before handing over to Bernhard who went even quicker, a 1m 39.670s, to set an average time of 1m 39.763s.

The sister Porsche driven by Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb could not match their team-mates but did make it another Porsche front row lockout and secure the German manufacturer's domination in WEC over a single lap.

Webber/Bernhard/Hartley will look to complete the sweep of WEC crowns in tomorrow's race knowing that with the bonus of pole position in Bahrain if title rivals #7 Audi win they only need to secure a minimum of fourth place to take the title.

The title-contending Audi driven by Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer will start from third in Bahrain after fending off the second Audi machine, while the two Toyotas once again trailled in fifth and sixth respectively.

The final qualifying session of the 2015 WEC season was delayed by 20 minutes after the Bahrain International circuit suffered floodlight failure, plunging the track into darkness, but once the lights were reset the LMGTE Pro and Am classes got qualifying underway.

The Signatech Alpine squad grabbed pole position in the LMP2 category ahead of the two title contenders of KCMG, in second, and the #26 G-Drive machine in third.

In the GTE Pro class AF Corse Ferrari's Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander claimed their third category pole of the season just ahead of championship contenders and team-mates Davide Rigon and James Calado who are looking to overhaul Porsche Team Manthey's Richard Lietz's 20 point lead.

Lietz along with team-mate Michael Christensen struggled to put flying laps together and start down in seventh in class and 25th overall.

Aston Martin Racing's Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda grabbed the pole position honours in the GTE Am class.
