Kevin Estre has left McLaren to sign for Porsche's roster of factory GT drivers in 2016 and is lined up to compete in the North American Endurance Championship, the Nurburgring 24 Hours and the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours.

This year the 27-year-old French driver claimed wins in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Pirelli World Challenge while also making his Le Mans 24 Hour debut in LMP2 with Oak Racing in a Honda-powered Ligier JS P2 machine.

Estre has spent the majority of his burgeoning career competing in one-make Porsche series and made a noticeable impression with the German manufacturer after claiming third place in the GTE Pro class at the Spa 6 Hours in the WEC with Porsche Team Manthey.

The GT driver has thanked McLaren for handing him the opportunity to turn professional in a full-time capacity and is relishing the new challenge ahead of him as he prepares to partner up with Le Mans 24 Hours winner Nick Tandy and fellow Porsche driver Patrick Pilet for the North American Endurance Championship.

“I'd really like to thank McLaren GT for giving me my first works contract at the end of 2013 as this enabled me to launch my professional career,” Estre said. “A new chapter is beginning with Porsche, a make to which I'm very attached and which I'm extremely happy to join today.”
