Sam Bird has re-joined AF Corse Ferrari in the FIA World Endurance Championship, stepping into the driver slot vacated by Toni Vilander who moves to Risi Competizione in the IMSA alongside former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella.

Last year the British driver clinched the LMP2 WEC title with G-Drive having claimed four race wins in the Ligier JS P2 at Silverstone, Austin, Fuji and Bahrain.

Bird will team up with Davide Rigon in the team's number 71 Ferrari 488 GTE and will be a familiar face to AF Corse having competed with the Italian squad in 2014 with its Ferrari 458 Italia GT2, highlighted by a rostrum result at Silverstone.
