Aston Martin Racing has finalised its 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship schedule and driver line-up with its updated V8 Vantage GTE-Pro challenger, with TOTAL-sponsorship and a new technical partnership with Dunlop.
Having ended its long term relationship with Gulf Oil the AMR team has an all-new racing livery for 2016 and enters three cars into the WEC – two GTE-Pro, one GTE-Am – as it looks to add to its 23 class wins.
The team shakes up its driver formation with Danish duo Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen joining veteran Darren Turner in the #95 GTE-Pro entry, while in the second pro car #97 Richie Stanaway, Jonny Adam and Fernando Rees take up driving duties.
In the #98 GTE-Am challenger there is an unchanged line-up of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda.
On top of the driver mixes the new technical regulations have enabled AMR to develop its aerodynamics package with a new rear diffuser on the 2016 V8 Vantage GTE.
The British squad has switched from Michelin to Dunlop rubber for all three entries while receiving TOTAL as a sponsorship backer after ending its partnership with Gulf Oil.
The WEC season opener takes place at 6 Hours of Silverstone on the 15-17 April.
