Former F1 driver Robert Kubica will return to circuit racing later this month when he takes in the Mugello 12 hours.
Kubica, who has spent the last three years competing in the FIA World Rally Championship, will link-up with Martin Prokop, piloting a Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3, entered by the all-new MP-Sports Team.
"We are delighted to have Robert and Martin in our driver line up for the race at Mugello,” said MP-Sports team boss, Quirin Muller. “To have an ex-F1 driver within the team on the first outing is something special. I am sure all of us can learn a lot from Robert's experience. For Martin it will be a big step coming from WRC and Dakar. The circuit racing will require a different approach but again I am confident Robert's experience will be a big help for Martin.
“The target for all of us is to learn as much as possible and at the end of the day we are for sure aiming for a good result.”
The team now plans to conduct a test on March 16, with the Mugello 12 hours itself, round two in the 2016 24H Series, running from March 18-19.
