Ford Chip Ganassi has confirmed its full driver line-up for its return to Le Mans 24 Hours with Sebastien Bourdais, Scott Dixon, Billy Johnson and Harry Tincknell completing the four-car entry.

Having previously announced four Ford GT cars would be entered in the GTE Pro class for the prestigious endurance event, with two entries set to contest a full World Endurance Championship campaign in 2016, Ford has now confirmed its driver line-up with just under 100 days until Le Mans 24 Hours.

For its two WEC entries, Johnson joins the already-announced Olivier Pla and Stefan Mucke in the #66 machine, while former Nissan LMP1 driver Harry Tincknell partners Marino Franchitti and Andy Priaulx in the #67 for Le Mans.

In the additional two Ford GT entries exclusively for the French endurance event, Bourdais joins Joey Hand and Dirk Muller in the #68 and Dixon steps into the #69 with Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook.

“We are pleased to have a very strong driver line-up for our return to the Le Mans 24 Hours,” Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and chief technical officer, said. “We've assembled a talented and experienced team on all fronts and we are all focused on creating a new chapter in Ford's history at Le Mans.”

Tincknell, a Le Mans winner in the LMP2 category in 2014, will join up with Ford and become familiar with his new team at the opening two WEC races at Silverstone and Spa before heading to the twice-around-the-clock race.

“At 24, to be driving a Ford GT car at Le Mans exactly 50 years after the famous 1-2-3 finish for the team is incredibly special for me personally,” Tincknell said. “Ford has such an incredible history at Le Mans and I think with this car and team we can emulate some of that success.

“We'll be resuming that fierce battle with Ferrari but it will be very competitive with all of the manufacturers in the class so we are in for a great fight. There is an incredible drive within the team at the moment and everyone is excited to be back. I'm very proud to be a part of it all.”

Johnson will be making his Le Mans debut in 2016 having impressed stateside in the IMSA Continental SportsCar Challenge, while experienced hand Bourdais helped test drive the Ford GT during its development and competed in the #66 with Hand and Muller at the Daytona Rolex 24.
