WEC: Bad weather curtails Silverstone FP3

No times were set during an intensely snowy and wet WEC FP3 session at Silverstone this morning.
No times were set during an intensely snowy and wet WEC FP3 session at Silverstone this morning.

Commencing in wet conditions, Anthony Davidson was the first to venture out in the #4 Toyota Gazoo Racing entry; however the Briton caused a red flag early on when he aquaplaned exiting the Maggots/Becketts complex, beaching his TS050 Hybrid in the gravel at the bottom of the Hangar Straight.

Thereafter the rain turn to sleet and later heavy snow, forcing the race director to throw another red flag, before eventually cancelling the practice session completely with approximately 20 minutes remaining.

Aside from Davidson, Stéphane Sarrazin ventured out in the #5 Toyota, partnered by both Porsche 919's (with Mark Webber and Neel Jani) and the Audi R18's of André Lotterer and Loïc Duval, but none set times.

Bykolles's racer Oliver Webb also made an appearance, before diving straight back to the pits.

Harry Ticknell and Billy Johnson completed a lap each in the #66 and #67 Ganassi Ford GTs, while Adam Carroll and Emmanuel Collard made the best of the conditions in the Gulf Racing Porsche and AF Corse Ferrari respectively.
