Brendon Hartley has set the early pace for Porsche in the opening practice session at Spa-Fracorchamps heading the field by over half a second from the sister car of Romain Dumas.

The #1 Porsche 919 Hybrid car is looking to make instant amends after crashing in traffic at the 2016 season opener at Silverstone last month and with Webber at the wheel has topped FP1 with a 1m 58.012s.

The sister Porsche machine, which inherited the victory from Audi after its #7 R18 was excluded from the results in post-race scrutineering, made it a Porsche 1-2 ahead of #6 Toyota Gazoo Racing of Stephane Sarrazin, Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi.

The disqualified Audi from Silverstone claimed fourth ahead of the second Toyota, with the final manufacture spot taken up by #8 Audi.

In LMP2 Extreme Speed Motorsports headed the field with its #31 Ligier JS P2-Nissan machine and Luis Felipe Derani at the wheel, pulling out less than two-tenths on #26 G-Drive Oreca 05-Nissan of Roman Rusinov.

Richie Stanaway gave Aston Marting Racing some joy after a frustrating home race at Silverstone race last month by topping the GTE-Pro pack while in GTE-Am the #98 Aston Martin of Mathias Lauda, Pedro Lamy and Paul Dalla Lana seriously impressed by taking top its class and second overall in the entire GT field.
