Liverpool-based youngster and 2013 British GT4 vice-champion Declan Jones will compete in the 2016 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup next month, piloting a Red Square Vodka-branded Ginetta G55.

Declan, who celebrates his 21st birthday today (May 11), will race in rounds seven, eight and nine at Oulton Park from June 4-5, re-uniting with Nathan Freke's Century Motorsport, the team that took him to within a couple of points of clinching the British GT4 Championship during his debut season in 2013.

Declan says he can't wait to get back on the grid in Ginetta's flagship championship, which is broadcast live on UK television on ITV4, thanks to its place on the BTCC support bill, and adds that the deal has only come about thanks to Halewood Wine & Spirits and also his crowd-funding campaign.

"It has been a while since I have sat in a modern race car, so I am really looking forward to getting out. The hunger for it is just unbelievable, it really is. I just can't wait to get on track and put myself back in the public eye and on the racing radar. It's great to be able to confirm this on my 21st birthday too," Declan said.

"This opportunity is all thanks to Red Square Vodka and the crowd-funding and I can't thank Halewood Wine & Spirits or those that have chipped in through the crowd-funding enough," he emphasised.

"Red Square Vodka has come onboard for one event and we are going to see how it goes. Hopefully we can have a strong weekend and it would be fantastic if we could develop a strong relationship and see where we can go from here.

"I really want to do well at Oulton and show what I can do. I'll be aiming to get in the top-five in qualifying and then see if I can get some podiums in the races. We'd like to walk away with at least one win.

"That is the ultimate aim."

A spokesperson at Halewood Wine & Spirits, added: "We're pleased to support Declan ahead of the next GT4 Supercup event at Oulton Park, particularly as he lives just a few miles away from our Wilson Road distillery, and it will be great to see him competing in June."

Meanwhile, Declan, who is a driver coach at Oulton Park's Racing School, revealed how happy he is to be linking up again with Century Motorsport.

"It will be nice to be back racing with the boys at Century Motorsport and working with Nathan," Declan continued. "For me they are one of the best Ginetta teams in the paddock, and it is always good to work with such a professional outfit, and the fact we know each other so well can only be a positive."

Century Motorsport boss, Nathan Freke, remarked: "We worked with Declan for two years in the Ginetta Supercup and British GT and he has become a friend and is very much part of the Century family. We are friends outside of motorsport as well, so it is nice to have him back in.

"We want to give him a decent opportunity to run at the front of the field. It is pretty competitive at the front in the Ginetta Supercup, but knowing Declan's attitude, his will to win and also his talent, coupled with knowing Oulton Park very well, I think getting on the podium is very possible."
