Im not quite sure how you come to that conclusion maheadbear. Ive been involved with and followed touring cars in AUS for 30 years and followed world motorsport for just as long and the current series is about as entertaining as sedan based motorsport gets (worldwide). I am interested to here what form of motorsport interests you? and whether you are from AUS. because if you dont find V8 supercars entertaining Im not sure that motorsport is for you.

Holy **** where to begin!
The pit stops may be compulsary but even in the sprint races they wouldnt make it through on one set of tyres, they are needed! The drivers are far from corporate robots, apart from nascar they are about as lively as motorsports people get. Its popular because it is one of(if not)the best sedan based racing in the world. The utes(and other production based racing) have there place, but they arent exactly the most challinging cars to drive.Granted bikes can turn on some great close racing, but not always (donington gp 08).You obviously have a distorted memory of group C,great cars but hardly close racing. And going off your spelling I think you may have had a few VBs

What V8s are you watching? The pitlane opens on lap 5 and they all dive into the pits! The tyres they have can survive another 5 laps. Our V8s are nothing like they use to be! Just like watching a congo line of cars round a track.

I never claimed that V8 supercars were the pinacle of motorsport entertainment. There are plenty of catorgories that provide more passing/entertainment. The aussie race cars & anything bike related definatly(I race a bike engined clubman & a bike engined sports prototype car!).But as far as sedans go they are about as good as it gets.I follow them because the series involves the most talented australian motorsport people, just like I follow F1 for the technical battle-certainly not for overtaking moves. Some of us get a bit more out of motorsport than just to kill a few hours on a sunday afternoon. If you dont like it,dont watch it. BTW-The aussie race car series aint cheap to run, believe me!
