V8 » V8 Supercars to race at Circuit of The Americas

Tony Cochrane: This is a huge deal for V8 Supercars and one that all Australians should be proud of. Our sport is delighted to have entered this partnership with Austin and the incredible Circuit of the Americas.

Marcos Ambrose should make take a wildcard drive to help increase the awareness stateside? His fans over in NASCAR would probably enjoy seeing him back in the series he was champion of. I don't think the v8's will pull huge crowds but it would make for an interesting spectacle!

This is the best news of the year! I've been watching V8 Supercars for 6 years and it IS the best 4-wheel racing series on the plant!! I am so jealous of all the Aussies who are able to watch the races "live" or see the action on tv real time. Do they show the complete race from start to finish ? In the US we get a truncated, 2 hour review of both races two weeks after the fact. (Tomorrow will be shown Hidden Valley). By the way there are so many great tracks in AUS. Symmons Plain is just fantastic with that run down to the banked, hairpin, left corner. I love that corner :-)

Would be great if ambrose and other NASCAR/Indy drivers can get a drive also, but difficult cos NASCAR race every weekend, hope they can pick a date where no NASCAR/Indy races are on that weekend

V8s arent live in South Australia, they are 2 to 3 hours behind and there are so many commercials but i dont think the racing is that great though, it gets too predictable. Going to the first decent location overseas is good though.

Hey Zeus, The great circuits like Symmons Plains are being replaced by street circuits and overseas rounds. 2011 is the last time the V8's are heading to Tassy. In your 2 hour package the racing must look better than here because the racing is nothing but fake manufactured racing. I hope the series goes 100% international so we can get some real racing in Oz again.
