Despite not figuring in today's top ten qualifying shootout, IRWIN Racing's Alex Davison and David Brabham believe they can win the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
David Brabham and full-time IRWIN Ford driver Alex Davison were happy with their car despite not making the top ten qualifying shoot-out, and believe that starting twelfth puts them in the frame to win the famous Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
The IRWIN Racing duo figured in every session and were second in the rain-affected morning practice session. The car is both strong in the wet and the dry which will put the team in good stead given rain is forecast during tomorrow's race.
“The IRWIN Ford is well balanced in the dry and the wet and I've driven in all types of weather conditions so I feel that
I'm ready," Brabham commented, "I feel quite comfortable in the IRWIN Ford, which is a good sign.
"I think anyone in the top 15 is going to have an opportunity to win, the times are very close and we're right there with the frontrunners. It's a long race, I'm sure there will be all sorts of whether thrown at us and opportunities. I'm looking forward to it - we are definitely in with a chance.”
