I was wondering when Crash was going to comment on this. Massive news. From what we hear, won't be the first new manufacturer either. Tony Cochrane has stated there will be 4 manufacturers on the grid in 2013. Who will the 4th be. My guess either Chrysler or Mercedes.

Be very interesting to see what platform this will be based on however i find it hipocrtiical of AVESCO to insist on a 5.0 litre power plant, considering none of their cars are available on the open market with a 5.0 in them. That said its going to be interesting to see how they address the parity issue apart from rev limit and restrictors over the plenum/throats. No doubt NISMO wil have a multi valve OHC setup and the Aussies will still have cam-shaft-in-block setup. Only other remote contender is the Infiniti model with its 4.3 maybe stroked to 5.0 or the Le Mans VH45 V8. Either way this will be very interesting how they will even out th eplaying field.

DTN their is a particular tean in negotiations with
Mercedes through its sporting arm AMG.

We tested O.K on Saturday. Found a few nasties. Another test planned prior to Clipsal at Q.R.

If the deal proceeds it will not be factory supported but dealership supported.

Tommo Nissan themselves have yet to guage what platform will be the most attractive but I would suggest it will be the Infiniti.Parity has and always will be an issue. As for the 5 Litre motor the category is built around this capacity and is one of the criterias regarding COTF. The Motor can be OHC/DOHC/PUSHROD but must not exceed 5 litres and be Rev Limited @ 7500. Mate for me to explain it all would take the page with the ins and outs.
