It occurred to me that if the risk in light of his newborn and wife wasn't the deciding factor in leaving MotoGP, but instead the crap fans and politics, why not go to SBK or one of Australian national series? If you're a biker, you love racing bikes, and I don't see how you jump into a stock car because you hate the politics of one racing series.

I guess he can fly on four wheels too, hope he gets some good races in and finishes all of them. Would be interesting to see Casey vs Vale on four wheels.

He was 8th after second practice and just under 0.7 from the leader. That is more than impressive. That is unbelievable. Good to see a friend of my brother, Geoff Emery, ended up 4th. He is in the 2012 car of Craig Lowndes whilst Stoner is in the 2010 car. As Stoner said throughout his bike career, he was in it for the thrill of racing, not the championships. He is now going bumper to bumper with some of the most aggressive drivers on the planet and I have never seen him grin so much. I think V8 Supercars will be his home for the next 20 years.

Impressive by Stoner! Will be interesting to see how he will go on the full race distance though, top 10 is definitely possible if he can keep it clean.

and Crash, could you also update other V8 news other than Stoner please...

Have a look at the photo. 4 wheels but only one barely touching the track. That is why he has a grin from ear to ear. He is thrashing a 650HP car around a street circuit. What more could you ask for?

Look at the image. He is all 4 wheels off the ground on the curb!! Let's see what qualifying brings, but his first two runs are extremely impressive. I guess speed is universal.

@daniel kuchnia

At least I posted something of value. Your crap comment is crap because you assume any comment not highly praising of Stoner to come from a Rossi ass kisser. Is that what discussion on crash.net is to you? A war between Rossi and Stoner fans?
