V8 » Casey Stoner speaks after impressive V8 debut

“It was a little bit different to begin with, going from a bike to a car, but you learn to run with it – that's the edge of the track and that's all you've got” – Casey Stoner.

“I'm pretty happy to be honest. We still need to make some improvements with the car, but it's also me getting used to the car, getting used to the track, getting used to having cars around me and not being able to turn around and check who's behind me, having to use the mirrors instead and I'm unable to punch anyone who has the audacity of being close to me without winding down the window."

Fixed.

So two wrongs make a right, huh?

Casey could have dealt with like a man or a boy. He chose the latter. My issue isn't that what he did was dangerous, it's that what he did was pathetic. But then should I have expected more?

Johnsons has never watched V8 Supercars. If he did he would know that an idiot who slowed down on the racing line during a qualifying session would have a few car panels deliberately dented by the other drivers as well as an angry confrontation in the pits. And if he thinks that a punch thrown from the back of a motorcycle through padded gloves into padded leather is dangerous then he must have thought the idiocy that angered Stoner was nothing short of catastrophic.

@ Johnson

No, what I find PATHETIC is that NO-ONE says anything about what de Puniet did (and I am a Randy fan too) but what RDP did COULD HAVE KILLED BOTH OF THEM, yet the nudge on the shoulder gets CASEY a fine and all the hatred of all the little hater girls on here...

@ WylieCoyote

Confrontation in the pits is one thing, punching someone on a motorcycle from behind when they're not expecting it something else. Even at slow speed, balance can be lost and an injuiry sustained. But as I said before, the danger isn't an issue for me. That was an assumption on the part of Nick636.

A thumbs up, good Sir. Such a high level of intellectual wit cannot go unrewarded.
