Glenfords Racing has announced that regular driver Fabian Coulthard will hand over the reigns of the #111 Falcon to fellow Kiwi John McIntyre in the co-driver session ahead of round five of the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship at Sandown Raceway.

McIntyre is a hot favourite to secure the co-driver role with the Ford team for the Phillip Island enduro round in September, and will use the Sandown event to get comfortable in the car.

Having previously raced V8 Supercars at Sandown, McIntyre is expected to be quickly up to speed in the Glenfords Falcon.

"John is the front runner for the Glenfords co-driver seat at the Phillip Island enduro round," team boss Paul Cruickshank said. "He is one of the most successful Touring Car racers to come out of New Zealand; as a three-time national champion, John is one of the most highly credentialed drivers for the seat and we are looking forward to having him join the team at Sandown."
