D`Alberto aims to score in Queensland.

Rod Nash Racing's Tony D'Alberto will hope to make the most of his previous experience at Queensland Raceway in the seventh round of the V8 Supercar Championship season.

D'Alberto enjoyed a strong weekend in Darwin last time out and will now go to one of the few circuits where he has raced a V8 Supercar in the past eager to try and pick up vital championship points to add to his tally.

“Half the tracks we go to this year are ones I have not raced a V8 Supercar on,” he said. “It is good to come to a track where I can get on the gas from the first lap because I know my way around it.

“We have 29 really good cars and drivers out there and the times have been so close the past few meetings that if anything is not quite right for qualifying, car or driver, and you are going to have to fight from the back.”

D'Alberto admitted that he needs to improve on his qualifying performance going into the latest round of the season, with confidence high that he can impress if given the chance to start higher up the grid.

“Qualifying is the area that we need to improve most as that has been our weak point this year,” he said. “I have had plenty of race pace, but it is really hard to make the most of it if I start well down the grid.”
