Marshall prepares IRWIN farewell.

Marcus Marshall is targeting a good end to the 2008 V8 Supercar season as he gets ready to say farewell to the IRWIN Racing team at Oran Park.

The former British Formula 3 and Champ Car World Series racer is currently classified in 24th position overall in the standings and as he gets ready to end his third season in the V8 Series, he confirms this will be his final outing with the IRWIN team.

Also the final V8 race for the 'figure of eight' Oran Park circuit, Marshall is determined to put on a good show for the team around one of his favourite venues.

“For me, IRWIN Industrial Tools and the team it is very important to finish the year on the right note,” he said. “It is also the final time the V8s race at Oran Park which has a rich history in Australian motor sport.

“The whole group is determined to finish with our heads held high and that means a strong weekend on the track.

“From a driver's point of view Oran Park is a great track. The combination of challenging corners and the fast start/finish straight, plus it is the only track we race at with a cross-over bridge. It has always attracted huge crowds and I see this year being one of the biggest.”
