Winslow impresses in Sonic test.

James Winslow enjoyed another successful V8 Supercar test, this time with Sonic Motorsport at Winton, as he seeks to confirm a ride for 2010.
Having made a stunning debut on the streets of Homebush Park at the start of the month, and enjoyed a run with V8 Supercar champions 888 as a result, James Winslow continues to make strong claims for a ride in one of the category's two main series next season.

Fresh from his outing alongside double series champion Jamie Whincup in 888 TeamVodafone's Ford Falcon, the Briton was invite to test with the affiliated Sonic Motorsport squad at Winton Raceway in Melbourne. Again at the wheel of a Ford, Winslow drove one of 888's former championship-winning chassis, and impressed sufficiently to begin investigating opportunities with leading Fujitsu Series outfit Sonic.

"The last few weeks have been great and, after the strong debut at the Sydney Telstra 500, we have been invited to drive for some great teams," the former F3 and Renault V6 champion noted, "V8 Supercars is a great series and the cars seem to really suit my driving style.

"I have been offered a few very good seats in V8s for next year, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the future will bring and where we will be in 2010. It's a very exciting time."

I hope James gets a drive with a competitive team next year because he is such an under-rated talent. It would have been nice to see him progress further in open wheelers but a chance to drive V8’s will mean he has the potential to earn a half decent wage after all the years of hard graft pulling together budgets to go racing.
