Bright signs with Brad Jones Racing

Jason Bright to join Brad Jones Racing in two-year V8 Supercar deal
Team BOC and WOW Racing co-owners Brad and Kim have announced that Jason Bright has agreed a two-year deal to join the Brad Jones Racing team.

Bright brings a wealth of V8 Supercar experience to the team with a resume that includes drives with Stone Brothers Racing, Holden Racing Team, PWR Racing and Ford Performance Racing before becoming a team owner in 2005 with the establishment of Britek Motorsport.

Bright has amassed 145 V8 Supercar starts, ten pole positions, 15 race wins and 32 podium finishes as well as a best finish of third in the 2004 championship.

In a coup for the team, experienced engineer, Phil Keed will also be joining Brad Jones Racing in 2010 and will reunite with Jason Bright as his race engineer. Together the two formed a formidable partnership in the PWR Commodore in 2004 fighting for the Championship before a memorable crash at the Indy round ended their chances eventually finishing 3rd.

“BJR has all the ingredients to turn it into a very strong force,” Bright said. “Its rate of progress up the field in the last couple of years has been impressive and the changes they've made internally, as well as their plans for the future with engines and engineering, were all deciding factors for me.

“Going to a new team and winning a race in the first four rounds is going to be hard but providing the first test day and couple of race meetings go smoothly I don't see why it shouldn't be possible given the ingredients we've got.

“I haven't seen a team so excited about their prospects heading into a new season, which sometimes can be half the battle.”

Bright leased one licence to Jonathon Webb. Brad Jones expanded to a three car team with Bright anticipated to run under WOW colours and has promoted Karl Reindler from the second tier to run within the team under the Wilson Security colours under the second licence available to Bright. Therefore Bright has retained his two licences for the future.
